Faith Comes By Hearing brings your church a 40-day Bible feast

Ahead of your church lies one of the most important and life-shaping experiences they will ever have. Listening to the whole of the New Testament in Welsh over the same 40-day period.

It is an experience that’s refreshing the faith and understanding of churches around the world through the Faith Comes By Hearing programme. And now it is available to Welsh churches with the publication in audio of the Revised New Welsh Bible.

Faith Comes By Hearing is so simple

Here’s what happens ...
  • Your church members – young and old – commit to listening to the whole of the New Testament usually for 40 days.
  • They follow a daily listening guide, listening whenever and wherever is most convenient.
Think what this will mean as people grasp the "big picture" of God’s truth and its life-changing message. And as the Holy Spirit applies what they hear to their lives.

Think of the way they will be more likely to talk about the Scriptures with each other. And how this will enrich the life of your church. Think too what it will mean to your ministry. Your preaching will be in the context of your hearers all having encountered the Bible passage during the past week.

What about the cost?

The only cost involved for your church is the price of the audio package, and postage. However our hope is that you will take up a thank offering on behalf of the Faith Comes By Hearing programme during your 40-day feast.

What others say

Revd D Marc Owen, Church Life Secretary for the Baptist Union of Wales, has had experience with the English-speaking Faith Comes By Hearing programme when Senior Pastor at Milton Baptist Church, Weston-super-Mare. He says, "It brought the Bible alive and gave people the opportunity to rediscover a love for the Bible. It helped them pick it up again as a book and transformed their daily walk with Jesus. It was brilliant."

Rt Revd Edwin Regan, Bishop of Wrexham: "I do hope that Welsh-speaking Christians will take advantage of this new tool for both evangelisation and deepening their own faith."

Revd Ifan Roberts, General Secretary of the Presbyterian Church of Wales: "Having such a resource will open up new exciting ways of sharing the Christian faith. It will help both believers and inquirers in their study of the Word in their homes, and I believe both young and old will benefit. Diolch."

Thanks to: The James Pantyfedwen Foundation, CWM, as well as other groups, individuals and churches, who provided the funding for this special programme.
